Organizational Resolutions: Determining Needs in 2012

Presenter: Barry E. Altland

Lose weight?  Eat healthier?  Spend more time with family and friends?  Focus on your professional development?  Each of these is a noble resolution for the New Year...but what about the continued improvement in performance, engagement and development for your organization?

Business is rapidly changing before our eyes.  Along with it, so is the Workplace Learning and Performance (WLP) profession in the 21st century - or, at least it should be.

The practices that many of us in the profession have long relied upon are also evolving and adapting at a rapid pace.  Such is true for how we engage our internal and external clients to determine our strategic plans for the performance year.

This interactive, engaging workshop is targeted to any professional wanting to learn more about leading-edge strategies for assessing organizational gaps in performance, engagement and development.

During the program, you will:

  • Analyze the definition of an Organizational Needs Assessment

  • Contrast the difference in academic-based vs. performance-focused approaches to Organizational Learning

  • Examine a model for partnering with business functions to determine Organizational Needs

  • Compare the Organizational Needs Assessment model with the ASTD Competency Model to explore its alignment

The time is now!  We must evolve at the pace of business.  Staying vital in your chosen profession is mission-critical to your own individual performance, the performance of the organizations you support, and most importantly, for the continued credibility and growth of the WLP profession!
