Getting the Most out of Linked In’s Social Networking
Event Description:
Whether you are interested in expanding your network, increasing
your training and development knowledge, looking for a new
position, or exploring ways to increase your business, LinkedIn is
one of the most valuable networking tools available to
professionals today.
The ASTD November Program will offer an opportunity to get a
free professional profile picture and learn about the many features
of LinkedIn as a networking and informational tool. Whether you
are brand new to LinkedIn or an experienced user, we have the
presentation for you. Cindy Wasserbauer, an experienced
LinkedIn user, trainer, and networker, will share her knowledge,
tips and success stories.
You will learn how to:

Set up a more informative profile that gets people’s
attention

Turn off settings so your changes are not sent out as
announcements to your contacts

Create your own personalized LinkedIn URL

Make your profile 100% complete even if you are not
currently employed

Conduct a search of the companies you want to follow

Choose the right networking groups and engage in active
discussions

Grow your network of contacts and manage them the right
way

Add documents to your profile, like whitepapers and
articles you have written

Give and request recommendations and endorsements

Use the LinkedIn Help Features and much more
SPECIAL NOTES:
* FREE PHOTOS - Registered members can get a
professional profile picture taken at the event, courtesy of
Mel’s Photography. Services will be provided on site, before
and after the program. The standard photo is free, but digital
“touch ups” are available for $5.00.
* WIRELESS INTERNET - Wireless access will be provided by
the University of Phoenix. Bring your laptop or tablet so you
can connect into your Linked in account and follow along or
make changes during the presentation.
* FOOD DRIVE - As a way to give back to our community, we
are asking participants to bring food donations for local elders
in need. Any non-perishable foods and can goods would be
greatly appreciated!

learning professional.This month’s chapter
event supports the Area of Focus entitled
“Career Planning and Talent Management”

About our Speaker:
Cindy Wasserbauer, a current ASTD NEFL
member who also serves on the Member
Involvement Committee, comes from a strong
training and development background with over
20 years of experience. One of her first training
roles was in Cleveland, Ohio, teaching Russian
immigrants to operate cash registers.
As office automation became more popular, she moved on to
provide software training through Manpower International. She has
assisted companies with their ISO9000 certification, managed a
start-up Help Desk for the Florida Department of Health, managed
national accounts and automated procurement processes for
Unisource Worldwide customers.
Cindy is currently assisting Coach Leather with their seasonal
call center customer service training. Lee Hecht Harrison
candidates and Webster University students have participated in
Cindy’s LinkedIn presentations, question and answer sessions.
She enjoys learning, training, and sharing best practices.
