ASTD NE FL Logo_200x94.jpgTraining on Trial: How Workplace Learning Must Reinvent Itself to Remain Relevant Workshop

Facilitated by:Wendy Kirkpatrick of Kirkpatrick Partners, LLC

In 1959, Don Kirkpatrick wrote four articles that soon after became known as the Kirkpatrick Four Levels of Evaluation. It is a widely known fact that this model is the global standard in the industry. What isn’t widely known is that in those original articles over 50 years ago, Don wrote the words,DonKirkpatrick.jpg “Training managers had better learn to evaluate their programs in relation to the needs of the business before the day of reckoning arrives.” This program demonstrates the power of the Kirkpatrick Four Level Evaluation Model in designing, developing, delivering, and measuring training that provides business value to an organization. This program will provide you with an understanding of the four levels and how to ensure that training creates true value, and how to build your chain of evidence to demonstrate that value. Using analogies and best practices, you will learn a methodology to:

  • Clearly, define stakeholder needs in terms of what will success look like.
  • Extend their influence and the practice of “training” beyond the classroom and into the workplace.
  • Identify and leverage “drivers” that will greatly improve the opportunity to make a strong return on expectations. Based on the book of the same name, to be published later this year.

Panel Discussion: (1hour) What Matters Most to the CEO?  Budgets are tight, markets are competitive and globalization is here to stay.  How can training organizations strategically impact the bottom line?  What are your leaders looking for from you?  Using questions submitted by our members, a panel of local business leaders will address these very relevant issues.   “Learn how one local company meets these challenges by using the Kirkpatrick Model.”
